16 oz. can from ABC. Pours an engine oil black color with a tan head and good retention. No lacing. Aroma of ginger and booze. Flavors of dark bitter chocolate with a lot of ginger with an alcohol warming finish. Too bitter for an oatmeal stout and not sweet enough to be a cookie stout. The 8.0% ABV is fairly hidden. Medium+ body. Very low carbonation. Okay, but not my favorite take on the style.

Ultra deep dark brown coloured body with a very fast-dying three to four centimetre tall at first, deep brown head that fades to nothing at all just a few seconds later, like soda - very odd for the style! Aroma of super pungent spice notes with cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, earth, brown sugars, molasses, ground ginger, anise and even a hint of cumin. Light to Medium-bodied; Very strong spicey flavours dominate with a big earthy and nutty malt punch, but the caramelised sugars, toffee and molasses really come through, however the bitterness finishes this off quite strongly. Aftertaste shows a fairly good balance of sugars, malt, nuts, earth, lactose, alcohol and of course, tons of spice elements with the cardamom and aniseed notes the strongest with a slight savoury component on za'atar and cumin towards the end. Overall, fairly nice - very deep, strong and pungent and a tad thin, but it works decently, not perfectly...nice to sample well after Christmas, but still a good local option, even in the heat of May in Washington! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, given to me by a coworker, which was canned on 09-October-2020, sampled at my house here in Washington on 18-May-2021 - Thanks Colleen!

Super hazy golden coloured body with a very thin, large-bubbled tan head that doesn't leaves much nice looking on top, but the haze contributes to around ninety per cent opacity. Aroma of great orange juice, mangoes, melons, papaya and a lot of dry, peppery notes with a bunch of bitterness from the hops, a lot of citrus fruits and more sweetness in the nose than alcohol. Full-bodied; Very rich, super chewy malts come through, with a big dose of orange juice, mangoes and papaya with a clean, dry maltiness, a good deal of residual sugars from honey, resin and caster sugar with a slight astringency from all the alcohol. Aftertaste is very clean, remarkably fruity, but also super pungent, hoppy and thick - malty. Overall, this does a great job to provide bunches of malt to support great 'juicy' flavours from the hops, but also tropically, dry/peppery notes, all while being very drinkable at ten per cent! A great beer to sample for the style with a nice can/name - plus to have it locally is that much better! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 24-October-2020 for US$3,49, into the store on 30-September-2020, sampled at my house here in Washington on 24-February-2021.

$3.95 pint can, WW. I almost wish that mayo was used to make this, but alas... Medium gold with a soft off-white head. Brown leaf and grass nose. Brown leaf, tree bark, green leaf. It's fine, but underwhelming.

Pours clear deep gold. It has an assertive citrusy hop aroma. It’s a very citrus forward tasting brew with resin and medium to strong hop bitterness. Medium bodied. Very good.
