Description
Grimm Artisanal Ales is a Brooklyn-based brewery founded in 2013 by Joe and Lauren Grimm after nearly a decade of tinkering with fermentation. Grimm specializes in concise, elegant ales epitomizing the creative, experimental spirit of the American artisanal beer revolution. With each limited edition release, we seek to push the boundaries of style and flavor in order to create beers with the utmost depth and complexity.
For five years, Grimm operated as a nomadic brewery. Joe and Lauren would develop each recipe in the kitchen of their Gowanus apartment and travel to existing breweries near and far to craft their commercial beers.

Draught. Faintly cloudy golden with a foamy off-white head, piney aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter lightly piney orange peel taste, thin smooth body, long piney finish. Smooth IPA.

Aromas are a mild blend of citrus and resin and indistinctive. Flavors are similar to nose, leaning slightly sweet. Definitely drinkable but also definitely forgettable.

Keg @ Oluthuone Haka, Helsinki.
Poured hazy and orange in color, thick white head.
Perfumy flavors immediately upon first sip. Floral, citrus, meadowy feel. Not working for me at all. Looking at earlier ratings, seems very different to what I experienced,

Pours a hazy, lemon-peach color, with mid-sized head. Aroma a touch muted, but with citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors more pronounced. Also, some alcohol-burn. Soft enough mouthfeel. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish.

Bottle from NY Beer Dispensary while on a work trip.
Barrel aged Berliner weisse Alex with merlot, Cabernet France and Pinot noir grapes.
Half hazy, plum pour, weak soda head, bits of light.
Dusty, lemon, dry grape nose, sour bubblegum, not that impressed yet.
Big foxy grape funk twang. Briney, sour wheat, white pepper, minginette, lemon.
Crispy, thin, lots of vinegar, overtly sweet, not super attractive.
