Bottled at the brewpub. Dark amber, small head. Resiny hoppy nose. Sweet with dense lightly caramelly/syrupy malt. medium bodied with resiny finish. A bit sticky. Not as soft and edgeless as most Friedel’s brews.

Draught at Stöhrenkeller, Bamberg. Clear golden, small head. Deep buttery nose. Soft, sweetish malt dried out by grassy hops. Wonderfully well structured malt superbly balanced by the grassy hops. Long but mild bitterness. Orthodox but superb, A fantastic beer, almost iconic in it’s simplicity.
