Can at Pai Men Miyake, 8/12/18.
Thoroughly hazy, soupy, bronze-maize-golden with a medium-sized, white head fading slowly to a ring.
Smells the part, as well (NE IPA), with lots of yeast ester adding bubble gum and soft yellow fruits, while hops contribute strong starfruit, passion fruit, lemon, lime, mango and other tropical fruits. Biscuit and cracker malt behind with no alcohol or flaw and just a bit of resin in the nose.
In the mouth it's yeasty as all hell with a "thick", creamy texture with soft malt and spelt-like cereal character. Moderately juicy hops showing passion fruit, meyer lemon, mango, and pineapple gain some pine and grapefruit through the middle, finishing lightly bitter with nutty yeast and tons of bubble gum. Moderately bitter with a bit of twangy resin, but otherwise showing very lovely tropical fruits from the hops. Could stand to have a good deal less yeast character, both ester-wise and the actual particulate in solution.

Keg at Great Lost Bear - Portland. Pours murky yellow-gold with a frothy, white head. Some tropical fruits in the nose, pale bread. Light sweet flavour, a little chalky, some melon, papaya, dry pale bread, faint alcohol. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry and pithy finish, somewhat chalky, rindy bitterness. Not bad.

Draught at King's Head, 12/29/17.
Light haze to this pale, brass-tinted, golden ale with a small, white head showing moderate-to-low retention.
Strong saaz in the nose shows dusty, leafy, green hop notes of pepper, dried herb and light grass. Big fruity esters provide the good stuff; pear, apple and a very light touch of pineapple. White pepper and big nectarine skin sits on the finish. Clean, snappy and with interesting, rustic and grainy notes but not overly cerealic. Low on the citrus element overall and importanly, very low on clove with no bubble gum or banana.
In the mouth it's soft, with a malty texture and engaging, tight carbonation. Good dryness with lightly nutty/biscuity malts and big fruity esters and floral hops lingering on the end. Maltiness really makes this special, with light specialty malts providing complexity without over-drying the texture. Dry, snappy finish with yellow fruit skin-like notes (apple, nectarine, pear). Excellent surprise and encouraged to try more!

Pours a hazy, light golden-yellow, with a nice, medium cap of lasting foam. Aroma is grassy, citrusy, with some breadiness to it. Flavor is citrus and grass, with a light sweetness and some pine/spruce hop flavor in the finish. Not bad. Not bad at all.
