Bottled (thanks to my parents). Hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is wheat, some floral, fruity and mild toffee notes, harsh in the end, too metallic. Flavour is harsh. Metal, some herbs, grains, yeast and a big bunch of rubber.

Bottle, 2019 edition. Bottle #871. It's a murky orangey brown beer, headless and almost still, quite viscous. The aroma has some roasted malts and chocolate, hints of orange and pine cones, along with dark bread notes, caramel and alcohol. Not much, if any, impact from the barrel aging detected. It's full bodied, warming, smooth yet a bit edgy on the palate, with a good bitterness. Caramel, dried fruit, some dark bread, pine cones, hints of grapefruit, a very light meaty touch and a good dash of chocolate in the flavor. Everlasting finish with cocoa, dark dried fruits and piney hops standing out. Alcohol and some woody notes too all the way. Quite delicious this one. Tasteful, complex and warming. Balanced. 220331

Bottle, at B2 Burgerbar. 2019 edition, bottle #409. It's an unclear dark brown beer with a minimalistic dark beige head. The aroma is a bit alcoholic, but delicious, with lots of cocoa and dark chocolate. Roasted malts, dried figs, hints of bonfire and a touch of wood. Doesn't seem to have been wood aged though. It's full bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, very softly carbonated, with a good bitterness. Not too sweet, and the added lactose seems to have been kept at a low level. Dark chocolate and cocoa, hints of bonfire and coffee, some dark dried fruit and bonfire in the flavor. Woody, tannin-ish hints too, especially in the finish. I guess a few years of storage did good to this one. It's sure a delicious one now, but I suspect it might have been a bit rough on the edges when younger. 220331

Bottle, at B2 Burgerbar. 2019 edition, 10.5%. An almost headless close to black beer. Looks lightly foggy. The aroma has a delicious boozyness, with an equally nice coffee scent. Roasted malts, a touch of oxidiation, with prunes and cocoa, and a light woody hint. It's full bodied, smooth and lightly boozy on the palate, with a brown sugar and caramel sweetness. Fruity, herbal boozyness, coffee, hints of cocoa and prunes and some caramel in the flavor. Woody, tanninish notes. Lasting finish. In one way it's a bit boozy, but the boozy flavors are so nice it's just fine. Wouldn't mind a tad more complexity though. 220328
