Bottle at L42. It pours black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, decent dark coffee, bitter - sweet, dark chocolate and oily action. The taste is dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, treacle, tangy dark fruits, bit of jam and earth with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice porter, but there is a hint of tang kicking around... not bad, but probably a touch infected.

Bottle from the Corner Shop at Crossgates. Opens with a bit of a gush. It pours clear deep reddish - copper with a medium off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweetish, pink grapefruit, red berry, jammy, pine and resin. The taste is dry, bitter, resinous, pithy, zesty, pink grapefruit, piney, peppery spice and some some red berry skin with a drying grapefruit finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice grapefruit vibes. A rather good hoppy red ale.

Bottle picked up at the corner shop in Crossgates. The aroma is quite fresh, fragrant, floral, berry, blueberry muffin, cakey and sherbet The taste is dry, decent level of bitterness, bright floral action, earthy, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, berry and white pepper with a drying finish. Medium body and high, prickly carbonation. The carbonation is bit sharp perhaps, but it is an enjoyable nonetheless. Good stuff.

Bottle picked up Crossgates, Fife. It pours clearish yellow - gold with a medium, foamy white head. The aroma is fresh, grassy, white bread, mellow sweetness, butter biscuit and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, grassy bitterness, floral, lemon rind, doughy malt base, white bread and a touch of pepper with a drying finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and prickly mouth - feel. Pretty well rounded. Big bad for a lager.
