Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Pours a dark brown-mahogany with small tanned head. It was very roasty in flavour with coffee and liquorice coming through as well as chocolate, smoke and a touch of berry sour. Just about enough sweetness amongst the bitter roast to balance. Rich, medium bodied. This one doesn't hold back in terms of the style- a bit underrated I think.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A chestnut pour with a loose beige head; aroma of Demerara sugar; earthy malt taste, sweet at first, then drier with a vegetal bitterness and a hint of smoke; before a nutty finish. A solid autumnal beer.

Cask at the London and North Western JDW, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, yeasty, light woody hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, yeasty, earthy, herbal, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2024. A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a halo of loose white head. Aroma is midget gems, mixed tropical, jammy white grape, semi sweet. White grape, melon, light spicy, wheat. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, loose wheat, green apple, melon, straw, grass. Earthy citrus. Palate is crisp, flaked wheat, decent cask condition.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2024. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, leafy hedgerow hop, sticky pine, earthy, straw. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded, sticky,, pine, biscuit. Really solid.. Palate is semi sweet rounded, good cask condition.

Cask at The Four Candles (JDW), Oxford. Did what you'd want from a classic English pale. Good grippy bitter ending and some apple notes. Floral.

Cask at The Park Tavern, Eltham. Amber pour with a white head. Nose is banana toffee, caramel. Taste is much the same, quite a malty bittersweet vibe. Not bad.

Cask at the Duke of St Albans, Highgate on 1st September 2024. Reddish brown with yellowy white foam and full lacing. Malty aroma. Nutty maltiness throughout liquid pass and finish. An impressive build of bitterness. Full bodied with a smooth yet engaging mouthfeel.

On cask at Heaven and Ale, Barnsley - black, beige head. Chocolate hit up front, that reyt good chocolate that is like 70%. Bit of vanilla, smooth creamy, liquorice.
