Very dark brown, thin ruby edges, thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma - Wholemeal bread, dark roasted malts, cocoa powder...I’m getting Hovis bread here (?!)
Taste - deep dark caramel malts, soft dark roast, quite chocolatey, plain chocolate, dark molasses, some dark fruits in there, touch of earthy malt, complex, nice flavour
Palate - soft carb, medium body, smooth texture. Finish of chocolate malts, soft bitter roast, smooth
Overall - Great stout with a lot of flavour, liked the unusual brown bread aroma too

0,5 flaske (nr. 297 av 1320), delt med Willy: meget lovende aroma og utseende, men smaken blir for tynn selv om førsteinntrykket er godt. En typisk skotsk ale i maltprofilen og lite humlet. Lagret på gamle whiskyfat brukt til single malts hos Loch lomond Distillery, uten at det gjorde den store susen.

Bottled@chriso. Very deep amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, mild alcohol and some slight toffeeish notes. Flavour is brown sugar, fruits, some wooden notes as well as mild alcohol. Not all too much whisky in it, just a very slight sweet note.

0,5l flaske hjemført av ølvenn Willy. 4,5%. Myk, fyldig og behagelig smak med noe mer humle enn det som ofte er vanlig i scottish ales. Skyldes kanskje at de bruker frisk humle og ikke barr pellets?godt øl.

Hand-pulled cask, half pint, nicely served at the JDWs pub Henglers Circus. Creamy, white head leaving very nice lacework on the glassware. Clear golden body. Subdued floral hops to the nose. Flavoured by resin-like hops and mid-sweet malts. Smooth bittersweet aftertaste. A bit thin and easy to drink. Refreshing start to a new day in Glasgow, 12.04.2012.
