Description
Loch Lomond Brewery started life in our kitchen in Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond.
A desire to brew beer and create a family business that would allow the whole family to get involved we started in 2011 in Alexandria.
Now having brewed a number of award winning beers including CAMRA Champion Beer of Scotland in 2017 and SIBA Supreme Cask Champion of the UK in 2016, we have recently rebranded to include a number of new beers in cask, keg, bottle and can.
Still brewing on our original 10bbl kit our passion has not faded - in fact we are probably more fanatical now about our existing beers and new recipes than ever before.

Cask at the Justice Mill, Aberdeen. It pours clear brown with a handsome beige head. The aroma is brown bread, woody, toasted nut, light leather, caramel and toffee. The taste is fairly crisp and dry upfront, bitter - sweet character, toasted nut, earth, wood, toffee, spice and some dried fruits. Average body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Rounded and rather drinkable. Decent.

Cask at Montgomerys Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours dark chestnut with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly malts, with traces of caramel. In the mouth it is quite bitter with malts prominent but also some hoppy hints. Flavours too of marmalade, toffee and ginger leading to a slightly dry finish. This is decent.

Clear amber brown with a frothy off-white head and soft sweet malt on the nose. Smooth and fairly light with sweet caramel, some fruit malt and just a hint of bitterness coming through, but the sweetness overpowers it ahead of a dry finish

Can. A hazy pale yellow-orange beer with a foamy white head. Some curtains. The aroma has lots of grapefruit, pine cones, passionfruit and generic tropical fruityness, with little room for malts or anything else. It's rather thin on the palate, not watery though, with flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest and generic tropical fruityness. As in the aroma, very little room is left for the malts, but there's a very light hint of pale malts and bread. Medium length finish. A fine brew indeed, but it's lacking on body, big time. Quenching and easy to down though. 241009
