Loch Lomond Brewery started life in our kitchen in Luss on the shores of Loch Lomond. A desire to brew beer and create a family business that would allow the whole family to get involved we started in 2011 in Alexandria.
Now having brewed a number of award winning beers including CAMRA Champion Beer of Scotland in 2017 and SIBA Supreme Cask Champion of the UK in 2016, we have recently rebranded to include a number of new beers in cask, keg, bottle and can.
Still brewing on our original 10bbl kit our passion has not faded - in fact we are probably more fanatical now about our existing beers and new recipes than ever before.
25th July 2015 Lightly hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry and has a decent fine crispness. The malts are thin but mildly sweet. Hops bring bitterish citric peel, mild juicy orange, mild floralness and a whisper of tropical fruits. Pinch of hop spice. Light semi dry finish. Citric peel bitter linger. Good.
Cask at SRAF 2015... Golden amber... Thin white lacing... Soft sweet floral orange fruits.. Soft zezty fruits.. Light custardy fruits... Could probably do with a little longer venting
On cask at the sraf. Golden with a thin head. Orange and light herb on the nose. Confirmed on the taste and with good maltiness. Seems bitter initially but good persistent finish.
Re-ratingat the Oak Tree in Balmaha. The nose was quite mute in this occasion but loads of pine in the taste. Deserves a wee nudge up. Previous rating 10/07/15 on cask at sraf. 6+3+7+4+13=3.3. Golden with a thin head. Orange and malt only nose and taste. Decent balance.
