Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, consumed at home Sunday 19th February2023 listening to Hamish Hawk - Angel Numbers and we’re smoking a Pulled Pork Joint, Smoked Coleslaw with a Carolinar Vinegar Sauce. Pours clear chestnut with a filmy off white head that was big but has now diminished. Soft mouthfeel a little light almost dusty hoppiness, there is a steady maltiness, nice mouthfeel, a little metallic bite. It’s not my favourite style but it’s fine.

Kummert Bräu Weihnachts-Festbier, 5,9 %, Flasche von Mein-biershop.de. - Kupferrot, klar. - In der Nase mildes, blaß karamelsüßes Malz, zart weinig, nur schwacher Hopfen, insgesamt zu mild. - Antrunk fein toast- und karamelmalzig mit leichter Bonbonsüße, gut ausbalanciert durch zarte fruchtige Säure, die im weiteren Verlauf etwas zu deutlich hervortritt, weil es dem Bier an kräftigen Aromen fehlt. Gerade noch ausreichende, schwach hopfenwürzige Hopfung. Milder rezent, annähernd vollmundig. Im Abgang leicht trocken, mild toastmalzig und nur vage hopfenherb. - Süffiges aber etwas dünnes Festbier, wie alle Kummert-Biere zu blaß gehopft. (15.1.2023.)

Brown/amber. Aroma is caramel plum light earth with dried apricot and some noble hops. Taste is deep sweet caramel with a bit of warm plum. Quite smooth. A whiff of butter in the finish. Some hop bitterness as well. Not bad.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Sunday 1st January 2023 about to cook a Dal Makhani and a Lamb Raan to have with accompaniments such as Jaipur Slaw. Listening to Keg - Girders. Pours reddish brown with a fast disappearing off white head. Caramel and toffee dominate, it's sweet but not overly sweet, simple but also very well done, a little chewy and sticky but this is nice.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy amber, foamy head. A lot of hay and barley malt, some nuts and wood, light citrus and hops, yeast. Mild dryness, malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft to lively carbonated, mild dry sweet finish. Very nice!

500 ml bottle. Cloudy orange, foamy head. Bread, dough, hay, basement notes, floral notes, pale biscuit malts. Mild dry bitterness, yeasty fruity sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry finish. A very rural and smooth Zoigl, great!
