Description

Deep amber with a frothy, white head. Aroma is a mix of fruitiness and herbs—apples, pear, rosemary—on a caramel base. Taste is a mix of mild sweetness and tartness. A mild, herbal bitterness rounds out the finish. Nice. Medium bodied, mild chewiness, slight water. Overall, nicely balanced and tasty.

Gold with a light haze. The frothy to creamy white head lingers. Aroma is herbal to floral with mild lemon peel. Taste is moderate bitter, dry, clean with no off-notes. Mild citric diversion at the finish. Medium to light bodied, moderate carbonation. Nice.

Brown with an immediately fleeting foamy white head. Aroma full of woodsmoke. Light vinegar and soap underneath. Taste is mildly sweet up front, quickly moving into vinegary and sour territory. I don’t think this one is supposed to be like this. Did not finish.

26/IV/20 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ home, BB: 22/II/20 (2020-376)

Clear orange beer, big creamy bit irregular white head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: some pickled gherkins all right! Very malty, lots of grains, not as straightforward gherkins/pickles aroma as some other cucumber beers… Would’ve liked a bit stronger aroma. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: oh yes, sweet and sour pickles / cucumbers, some cucumber lemonade, bit too sweet and sugary maybe, but a GREAT pairing with my cheese dog waffles! Aftertaste: sweet and sour, soft bitterness, nice acidity, some caramel malts, more fresh and pickled gherkins, good stuff! Love it!

Huge, dense, whitish head leaving shards of lace over copperish golden beer, lively carbonated. Rather sourish nose, sour or unripe fruit, rhubarb, honey. Again rather greenery, again quite honey-ish. Not much fruit, fruitiness remaining very subtle. Lightly herbal, fine acidity, again not unlike rhubarb. Very refreshing, light bodied, well-carbonated. Not much aftertaste. Nice; but so little fruit.

Towering yellowish head over clear foxy copper beer. Caramel, green herbs & leaves, dry bread, fresh hops but with quite some ureum. Dry, leafy-bitterish flavour, bit bready, but as well as no sweetness - same case with the caramel flavour. Very slight mineral touch, melanoidins. Quite slick, light to medium body. Better carbonated than it looks. Quite likeable!

Huge off-white head, bit irregular, over deep-copper beer. Outspoken aroma of honey, some dryish herbs or leaves, but lots of honey foremost. Bitter honey in the flavour, herbs, autumn leaves, non-sweet caramel. Quite slick, medium bodied. In fact, not at all bad!

Clear red amber beer, big creamy dense yellowish to beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aftertaste: more chilli, slightly burning, some sweet malts, nice bitterness, bit grassy, grains, malty, good balance between spicy, sweet and bitter notes.
