Description
Welcome to Healeys! We mix apples and imagination to make delicious food and drink. Deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside, we’re a family-run farm that’s been lovingly making award-winning cyders, wines, spirits, juices, preserves, and sauces for nearly 40 years. Since planting our first trees in 1986, we've grown to become the largest independent cyder-maker in Cornwall and the first distillery for 300 years. Family owned and Cornish born and bred. Whether it’s getting to the core of great flavour or thinking outside the box, we know what it takes to make apples special. And we love welcoming visitors to the farm to discover our Healeys charm themselves.

Box @ Cromwell's Tap House Sausage & Cider Fest. Pale yellow appearance, very sweet desert apple nose. As expected flavour profile is tooth achingly sweet, clean with an oily palate. Could be pear, could be apple, hard to distinguish past the sweetness. Couldn't manage another sip.

Box @ The Abbey, Shrewsbury. Misty bright yellow. Sweet juicy apple aroma. Just as tooth-achingly sweet as the sparkling, but flat. Very mild natural element coming through but generally quite clean and sweet.

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. The last and only previous time I've had this was at a pub in Ivybridge. Played gold the next day and was sick in the rough a couple of holes in. Aroma is sweet, with a sour edge and peel. Hazy-opaque light gold. A few microbubbles skim the surface. Medium sour but underlying sweet but boozy apple then come through. Dry bitter finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Sticky. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Hmmm. Nit brilliant but certainly drinkable (and there was sweet FA else to drink in that pub).
