Wie der Calafati auf'm Praterringelspiel steh i da und was net wie ma g`schicht...[...]...alles draht sich um mein gelb's Chineseng'sicht, singt Peter Cornelius in seinem berühmten Lied. Der Calafati ist eine Statue, welche die Besucher am Eingang in den Wiener Prater begrüßt. Damit macht der Braumeister mit seiner Tradition weiter, seinen BIeren urige Wiener Namen zu geben. Bei einer großen Brauerei würde ich das aufdringlich finden, aber dem kleinen Garagenbrauer aus Rodaun, einem Teil des 23. Gemeindebezirks, nimmt man das aber wohlwollend ab. Dieses Bier mit Reis hat einen süßlichen, frischen Geschmack, der etwas komisch wirkt, aber nicht übel ist. Es wird vielleicht nicht mein neues Lieblingsbier, aber einmal etwas interessantes Neues.

33cl bottle. A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of sweet dark chocolate malt, caramel. Taste of dark chocolate malt, caramel, lacto, vanilla.

33cl bottle. A clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild sourish pale malt, grains, biscuit. Taste of strong grainy malt, rice, biscuit malt, dry bitter finish.

Tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien. Med-full body, high carbonation. Med-light generic beech smokiness, also sour however, med-light sourness. Overall feels pretty mild, generic, at the same time rough. Average, hard to drink.

bottle from a delicatessen in Vienna. Deep brown, almost black, with a creamy beige-brown head. Quite light-bodied, Guinness-like start with dark roasetd malts, some shy bitter chocolate low in sweetness, and some arthy hops in the finish.
