Dunkler hopfiger Antrunk, angenehm hefig, wenig herb. Etwas bananig, leider auch dumpf. Mild würzig, nett. Langer hefiger Nachhall. 11/11/12/11/9/11

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 1D adapted). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 07:20 11. AROMA: clean lager profile with a more malty and caramelly aroma than a regular helles. low to none hop aromas. APPEARANCE: amber color with orange tint and translucent. thin ivory head with low retention. TASTE: a more complex malty flavour than a regular helles with notes of munich and vienna malt with caramelized flavour. low bitterness with an almost sweet finish. PALATE: thin body with low carbonation. OVERALL: an average kellerbier that is a more malty helles variant.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet malts, some mild earth, herbs and a bit grassy notes. Flavour is strong on the sweetish malty side, mild herbs, some floral and toasted notes. Balanced.

330ml bottle. Clear dark copper-ish amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, barely white head. Strawy aroma, straw that has already served its purpose as bedding in a hutch. Taste is slightly caramel malty, slightly bready, minimally husky. A lousy try to scrounge some Bamberg reputation.
