Description
Horus Aged Ales is a 100% barrel aged brewery located in Oceanside, California. We believe in pushing the boundaries on how much beer can evolve through resting in oak by using a variety of different wine and spirit barrels, adding exotic fruits, and fermenting spontaneously. The complexity of the beer portrays our passion for experimentation and patience required to produce such a unique beverage. Horus has been a decade long dream that is finally coming true and we look forward to introducing our exclusive beer to the fine people of San Diego County.

Bottle shared at Andrew's b-day bash. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that dissipates quickly. Huge coffee and cacao fudge brownie nose that goes on and on. Light vanilla and hazelnut sweetness as it warms. Well-balanced on the palate with a thick mouthfeel. Dark chocolate, hazelnut and coffee. Like a Ferrero Rocher with coffee and dark chocolate infused into brownie and made into a beer. Fantastic.

Bottle thanks to Steve. Pours black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong cocoa, roast, almond, licorice. Slick body, roasted malt, dark chocolate, almonds, nice sweetness, hides alchol well, enjoyed this.

MBCC Sunday session, 'No riff raff'. Keg. Murky peach colour beer, no head. Light and dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Fairly tart fruits. Mild lemon acid. Light finish. Doing nothing for me.

MBCC Sunday session, 'No riff raff'. Keg. Slighty murky amber colour beer, small cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft fluffy malts, light creamy sweetness. Tart fruits sit nicely on top. Smooth dry finish. If only more sours had a malt base like this! Entertaining.
