We make all our ciders from apples hand-picked in local orchards which are managed traditionally and wildlife friendly. All the apples we use are free from any chemical sprays or fertiliser, and come from within 3 miles of our ciderhouse.
Our cider
We make small batches of cider using the apples'natural sugars and wild yeasts on the skin.
Our cider is 100% apple juice with no added sulphites. Our unadulterated cider is a pure expression of the soil and climate of where we live. Yarde cider is still made the traditional way, by wrapping the apple pulp in cloths and gently squeezing it. The cider is then left for a few months on its lees to maximise the flavour, before racking off and bottling.
We make three styles of cider:
Traditional Devon flat cider (3 litre, 10 litre or 20 litre)
Vintage 2018 - Keeved, lightly sparkling cider in a champagne bottle
Fine sparkling cider 2018, Méthode Traditionnelle, in a champagne bottle

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Sparkling, golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of earthy apple, funky. Taste is tart and tangy apple, some barnyard funk, sourish, solventy hints, biscuit and citric notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

25/5/2020. Bottle from Darts Farm, Nr Topsham, Devon. Pours slightly hazy, needed a careful pour to keep what was quite a bit of sediment in the bottle. Aroma of moderately tart apples, tannins, light sulphur, yeast, citrus and slight funky notes. Moderate sweetness, a nice tangy tartness and a little salt on the lips. Moderate body, bottle says still but there was actually a fault high level of carbonation which seemed to suit it well. Really enjoyed this.

On cask at Cove, Outer Cove. Appearance - deep amber with no head and no bubbles. Real cider indeed. Nose - applewood, dried apple to follow. Taste - dry woody, apple core. Palate - medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - complex, loads of layers going on. Real cider confirmed.
