Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Pine and grapefruit aroma with light darker malts. Pine and grapefruit flavor with toffee and chocolate. Medium bodied. Pine and grapefrut lingers with chocolate aned toffee. More like a Black IPA.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head leaves spot lacing as it recedes to hug rim and mottle surface. Cocoa and pit fruit aromas. Soft and thin with sour chocolate, tobacco and leather upfront turning to a sour vegetal finish.

Bottle 330ml
Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain, pine, citrus and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

33 cl bottle at the Brill stand at Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival 2011, sampled on October 1, 2011Hazy copper color, yellow head. Citrussy hoppy scent, some sweet malt. Very hoppy, bitter, citrus, alcohol taste. Smooth mouthfeel, high bitterness. There is some sweetness in there too.

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival, 2011. Pours cloudy copper with a small white head. Caramel, pine and peach. Smooth, dry, crisp and freshly hopped. Nice.

Draft courtesy of, and poured by, Tobias the Brewer at BBF 2011 - thank you sir! Deep golden color, bright white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of pine boughs and citrus. Taste is nicely balanced and smooth, hefty bitterness with lots of citrus, pine resin and grapefruit. Excellent example of the style, and easily the best DIPA at the festival.

From tap. Pours hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is dense hopy, pinewood, grapefruity and peachy. Bitter, bone dry and hoppy finish. Thick dark malty and solid hoppy. Ends dry and solid bitter.

To ol final frontier these are the voyages of the starship hoppy. Its continuing mission is to push back the boundaries of hop flavour. Hoppy as hell. Fresh. Bit cold. Lots of finishing bitterness. Lovely hoppy beer. Well constructed and balanced beer. Tasty 4.0/5

Bottle. Pours a clear orangish gold with a white head that dissipates slightly but remains throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with a bit of resin and a light grain backing. Flavor begins with grapefruit that is joined by pine and a bit of resin in the finish.
