Bottle at the meadery. A crystal clear, dark golden mead. Some natural raspberry in the aroma lightly flowery with sweetish notes. Medium body, medium sweet, with raspberry and some honey. A quite pleasant one, I especially like the real raspberries. 130808

Bottle. Pours clear golden. Aroma of honey, alcohol, hay. Flavor is the same, quite herbal, notes of grass, not anywhere near as sweet as other meads I have had, which is interesting given its name. Interesting herbal note. Light body, ABV apparent in the warming of the palate.

Tap. Well this is certainly the first "Cyser" I have rated, and it taught me that Cysers are actually Meads, not Ciders. Cool! Pours clear yellow with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is green apple and honey. Flavor is light tart, medium sweet. Medium body. Interesting.

Tap. Pours clear deep reddish black with a large creamy brown head and good lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt, tobacco, coffee. Flavor is lightly sweet, with some honey notes but certainly not overpowering and lightly coffee bitter. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Decent enough.

Sample at the meadery. pours clear amber gold. Aroma is an enchanting mix of honey, bourbon and oak. Flavor is the same, quite sweet with noticeable bourbon flavors, but not overpowering. The blend is pretty darn good. Medium body. This is pretty good shit - but it had better be at 80$ / 375ml.

Pours clear faint gold with modest legginess. The aroma is full of firm levels of sweet honey and play dough as well as waxed apple wedges. The taste is pretty much the same with sweet smooth honey, fruity wax Halloween candy and a smooth sweet somewhat waxy finish.

Sample at the Mead Molehill tasting on 01/10/2011. Clear amber color with minimal head and lacing. Sweet honey in the nose. Medium body with flavors of herbs, honey and flowers. The finish is short and sweet. Pretty average overall.

Bottle ($14.99). Pours a clear, golden yellow color, with no head but medium legs. The aroma is interesting. Sesame seeds and dates predominate. Cinnamon, cork, cedar continue. Earthy, spicy, persimmon; surprisingly complex! Buttery, complex. Pappy [bourbon, (very) good bourbon] like vanilla tones. I am liking this more with each sniff. Taste is dry, oaky, cork, sesame, lots of vanilla, date and aged bourbon barrel usage. I am surprisingly LOVING this, and I was expecting another mediocre Rabbit’s Foot product. Very dry, very complex. Peppery, like some very fine and expensive wines I have had the pleasure of trying. Pungent and a tad vinous. Thick and weighted mouthfeel. Holy crap, count me as very pleasantly surprised by this one!!!! Overall: a super COMPLEX and bourbon like mead from a otherwise mediocre meadery!

Bottle. Pours with a surprisingly large white head that fades quickly over a fiercely carbonated body. With the cork setup, I wasn’t expecting carbonation at all! The body is clear and very pale. Aroma is spicy and pungent honey, sulfur, cinnamon, and bright, red apple. Taste is very dry. Some cinnamon. Really not much there beyond sparkling water. A bit of sulfur. Champagne like carbonation and an equally thin mouthfeel. Pretty bland to be honest.
