Bottle. It pours a clear, dark golden to pale amber body and a small, off-white head. The aroma is too caramel malty for my likings, almost butterscotchy. Some hoppyness. The flavor is going in the same direction. Buttery caramel with some grassy hoppyness and bitterness. A nice bitterness finishes the whole thing. There’s enough bitterness to deal with the malty sweetness here, making it a quite decent one even though it’s too buttery, especially aroma-wise. It helps with some time in the glass though. 110524

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, white head sitting patiently on top. Quite hoppy on the nose, with a pale maltyness in the back. Grass and pinecone notes, slightly flowery. Nice bitterness in the flavor, piney and grassy, with malty sweetness in the back. Medium body, quite dry even though there’s sweetness. Medium length finish with a nice bitterness. Nothing superb going on here, but it’s a pleasant beer anyway. 110524

Bottle (kindly excavated by Stephan!): Almost clear, mid-sized fluffy off-white head; moderate caramelly-toasty nose, nutty traces detectable, but also a metallic tinge; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft; lingering, balanced dark-malty - with traces of toffee - and hoppy finish. Good quality from the Altmuehl valley......

(bottle, with thanks to Quack-Duck) Clear, amber colour with a tall and off-white foamy head. Hearty sweet toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, a nutty touch and shades of herbal hops. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly toasted cara-malty and nutty taste with bready and slightly herbal accents; sweet-bitter toast-malty finish with a tinge of herbal hops and caramel in the aftertaste. Good stuff. 19.I.11
