Draft at brewery. Spices kill the head. Definitely has ancho flavor but barely any heat. Not a BOG beer but a big beer. A thicker body, smoother. Has some sweet leftover sugars. The ancho helps with that. Works for me.

Draftat Brewery. They do head well at this brewery. Tan and sticky. It's a light, dry ash porter with a very toasty fumy aroma. No acidity or mineralness. Easy drinking Porter.

Draft at brewery. Can I just call this basic. Just the facts mam. Strong lacing but not the same head as the other hop beers. Moderate everything, across the board.

Draft at brewery. Amazing head retention just sticks around and so is the lacing. Grassy hops aroma with very light peach floral. I like that it's not crazy fake peach but the hops are not particularly interesting. Flavor is similar with low bitterness but a bit drying paper at the end.

Draft. I'm glad I went for a second flight bc this is surprisingly nice, a very Brett beer with lots of hops. Strong head retention atop a clear dim gold body. Vigorous carbonation bubbles shooting up the beer. Strong herbal Brett aroma with lightly bitter citrus, fruit, and light piss hops. I can forgive the hops because of he great Brett aspect. Hops come to the forefront of the flavor, more slick tartness comes out as well. The hops aren't particularly interesting for me and I feel like the flavor just hides the awesome brettiness. Tart bitter finish that annoys me. I want this with less hops.

Draft. Tan head sticks around and covers the glass in lacing. Aroma is nice and I can't tell it's bourbon barrel right away. Lots of fumy black malts - cocoa, coffee, and only mild mineral acidity. A. It of a light espresso cake. Flavor is again mild on barrel with a thicker smooth body that really rounds out the beer. A little mineral carbonation at the end to loosen it up a bit. Nice stuff.

Draft. Don't know where the cherry on these are. A livelier zing on the aroma with more fresh yeast fruitiness. A little peachy concrete. Flavor has a bit of bitterness to round of the general sweet but much less than you'd think sweet. Sirpriangly light body. I could do it.

Draft side by side with the non barrel version. Clear dim gold color. Barely any lacing. Would never guess this was barrel aged, and definitely not bourbon. Though the aging has helped calm some of the sweetness and esters compared to the regular. A slick malt flavor, sweet but low sweetness for an American version. A little alcohol essence on nose. Still pretty one demensonal though easy to drink for a style that's often tooth achingly sweet and estry.

12 ounce can. Opaque black brown color. Small creamy tan head. Roasted malt nose hints at chocolate and wood. Creamy mouthfeel leads to a roasted malt flavor that hints at cocoa, coconut and pine. There are subtle underlying notes of lemon and mint as well. Finish is chewy and sticky. This is a delicious, well crafted Porter, worth seeking out.
