Description
The Schlossbrauerei Ellingen with its fine beer specialties has been around since 1690. Experience a piece of our long-standing brewing history with every sip. What makes our beers so unique? FÜRST CARL beers are still brewed by hand in the traditional way in the copper brewhouse of the historic brewery. Our raw materials are natural and come from Ellingen and the region: water from our own well, hops and malt from Ellingen and Franconia. We only brew what we are good at: Franconian beer specialties!

Our family, the princes of Wrede and the team of FÜRST CARL stand behind what we do: first-class beers.

Bottle looks good but a bit complex. Beer in the glass zippy, almost no head. Starts malty-spicy, quite metallically. Finish soapy and dry, unbalanced. Not good.

Bottle looks good but a bit complex. Beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts malty-dry, modest roasty-scratchy. More and more moldy, finish too unbalanced, so not very drinkable. Not so good.

(bottled, as Kellerbär) Hazy, deep golden colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Delicately grainy and yeasty (cara-)malty aroma with notes of herbal and subtle citric hops. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a spritzy, almost a bit sharp carbonation. Malty taste with hints of bread and a tinge of caramel, accompanied by herbal and delicately fruity hops, leading into a dry and moderately bitter finish. Not bad, but could be better balanced. 15.V.13
