12.7 oz bottle. Aroma is coconut, cocoa, wood, vanilla, molasses. Pours very dark brown with a half finger beige head that falls into a ring immediately. Taste is bittersweet with flavors of coconut and dark chocolate. A lovely strong bitterness lingers long on the palate.

a: perfectly clear deep ruby coloured body | no head, movement or carbonation at all, despite nice seal on caged/corked bottle!
a: funky (duh!) | cedar notes | foul feet (like my feel smelt like after 26.2miles yesterday in the USMC Marathon 2025
f: soured | raspberries | hibiscus tea
t: lactobilly funk | woodsie | dry throughout (naturally)
o: complex from the wood | sour cherries (yes...) | less impressive than I was expecting/hoping for, but decent at least, just not good/great..even after all these years!
375 mL caged/corked bottle | Bottle Craft (store): San Diego (Little Italy), California | 31-January-2020 at the start of 'covid' when idiots were wearing masks on the flights | US$14,99 | 2019 vintage (on bottle label) | sampled: 27-October-2025, in celebration after running the 2025 USMC Marathon with my wife - congrats to her!

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Foggy golden pour, small foamy white head fades to thick ring around the glass. Fruity aroma, light citrus, zesty notes. Taste turns over to mild tropical and stone fruit, with some light citrus zest lingering. Full bodied.

12.7 oz corked and caged bottle. Aroma is lemony, bready, chalky, B.O., pine. After gushing from the bottle a little bit, it pours hazy golden with a large pillowy cream-white head with excellent retention. Taste has a moderate (high for style) herbal hop bitterness backed by light bready malt sweetness and a subtle lemony flavor. Highly carbonated foamy mouthfeel.

2022. Amber-brown. No head. The aroma is woody, and there's some nice fruity depth. This has a rounded, raisiny sort of character. It's clean - doesn't have the heady notes of the 2024, and that makes all the difference. Really allows the sugars and fruitiness to shine through.

Amber-brown colour. No head. The aroma is kind of headsy, a touch of bubblegum. On the palate, it's got a boozy accent, the malt is a bit toffeeish but doesn't come together all that well. With a touch of warmth the esters blow off, which helps the sugars to come out, but it's boozy, a bit headsy. Kind of uncoordinated.
