11th May 2019. Can. Hazy amber beef, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light but smooth malts, decent streak of caramel sweetness fairly well balanced with woody bitterness and fruity rum. Fair bit of ripe orange and tangerine peel on the spicy finish. I have another can of this which I will leave for a year plus, to round off. Good barleywine, just a little young.3.8

Can. Same batch 3.5 years on. As I thought would happen, this has rounded off very well indeed. The rich fruity aspects are now to the front, rum soaked fruitcake and a little barrel induced vanilla. All backed up by cream and caramel malts that are not even close to oxidizing. Some spice remains on the finish. What was a very good barleywine is now a superb one.

Many thanks to beersiveknown for this can. Sticky deep beginning. Intense fresh fruit with a deep malty caramelly raspberry back. Intense and deep fruity with lots of dry chocolate.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - hazy yellow with tight lacing. Nose - getting tropical and citrus though not sure I could narrow it down to passion fruit and tangerine. Sour, funky edge to it. Taste - orange, apricot, mango. But dominated by the sour funkiness. Palate - medium bodied, creamy yet tangy. Dry, sour, tangy finish. Overall - good.

Can. Hazy orange - gold beer, a few pale cream colour head. Palate is thin and fairly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thin but still decently sweet. The additives of mango and passion fruit are readily obvious here. You may ask why bother with the hops? Good question! Well there is hop pine and nibbly hop spice here. A little orange citrus as well. Light and semi dry finish. Decent dipa, I would suggest that Passion fruit would be enough and less of it.
