Can. Clear golden pour, some white foam on top. Soft yeasty nose, maybe some wheat character there, chalky. Light malt sweetness and some saison spices. Taste is soft, lightly spicy, a bit sweet but not cloying. Fresh feel to it, light bitterness with herbal notes. Dry linger. Pretty good and drinkable.

Can from my local Natural Lawson, fresh batch. Pours transparent, nicely golden, some white foam on top. Nose has some grainy base, light tropical hops covering that. Feels like they have reduced the hop bill compared with the last incarnation of this beer. Now feels actually a bit soapy, grainily soapy. Taste brings out more of that hop character, feels quite fresh and with a medium hop level. Finish is dry, bitter and with lingering herbal hops. Probably one of the best session IPL's in Japan.

Can from Shinshu Osake Mura, drunk at home. Pours dark brown with a decent brown foam on top, nice thick brown head that reduces into a thin beige layer of bubbles. Nose is roasty, has some light tar notes and lots of cocoa and dark, dry chocolate. Some berries hidden in between. Tastes dry, ashy even, lots of dark chocolate - and almost no sweetness. Heaps of roast character, medium body, finish has some little fruitiness and more chocolate. Pretty good one, especially for this abv, well done. Enjoyable.

Can from the source. Pours nice clear golden, even sparkling golden. White foam on top, stays for some time. Grainy biscuity nose, light hops there but not that pronounced. Taste is simple, mainly malty and biscuity with some bitter-dry finish. Quite simple and clean golden ale, not that exciting but not bad either.

Tap at Shinshu Osake Mura. Pours dark chocolate brown. Not too much carbonation there but this does not really bother me at all. Nose is sweetish, coffee with light roast character and saison yeast spices are there as well. Really great balance which is also coming out in flavour. Taste has good amount of bitterness, so sweetness is not really there, some toffee and again herbal spiciness from yeast. Well done, liking this a lot, also had a second pint!

Can from the source. Nice golden amber pour with some white foam on top. Sweet citrusy orange nose, malty base shines through but that fruity thing is in the forefront. Taste is malty but well balanced with hops, some breadier flavours coming out at the end. Quite decent and nicely drinkable pale ale.
