Can from the brewpub. Straw orange, bit dirty and some foam on top. Quite malty nose, bready biscuits, quite clear. Taste malty, crisp and biscuity. Quite clean and with some modest bitterness underneath. Finish is relatively short but pleasant. Drinks well, clean crisp taste.

Can from the brewery, drank from the can, inside a capsule hotel. Nose is quite malty, some malt dust there, plus this particular grassy wet hop feel, some grapefruit peels. Somehow feels also bready. Tastes medium bodied, nice mouth-filling grassy bitterness, grapefruit juice and grapefruit flesh. Bit stuffy and bready but that could be even a good thing. Grassy citric-bitter linger continues for a while. Fresh and good, Cascade's grapefruit comes through nicely.

350ml can @Tokyo. Pours golden orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus, pine and grapefruit. Taste is crisp, grassy and citrusy with some pine, grapefruit and herbal hoppiness. Finish is herbal hoppy, piney and resinous with some grass, citrus and caramely malts. Okay.

11/VIII/17 - 350ml can from a trade @ home - BB: 2018/II/10 (2017-1202) Thanks to shoulderbroken for the trade!
Clear orange beer, nice creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, falls down quickly, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of tropical fruits, bit funky, resinous, some grapefruit notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of citrus, grapefruit, bit watery though, grassy, bitter. Aftertaste: some tropical fruits, fairly bitter, grassy, bit metallic, little sweet and malty, passion fruits, grains, nice one!

hazy golden color. Very sweet with tons of oak, green raisin in the nose. Slight sweet mouth, with oak and apples, stewed fruit, slight sour, the barrel aging has thinned things out. For 13% this is very interesting. White wine and oak in the finish. Good stuff.

About 330¥ at Seijo Ishii, this is the same team that brought you Captain Crow a standout J-craft reasonably priced hoppy beer. For this follow-up collaboration they made a hoppy lager that is a crystal clear gold with a thick fluffy white head and a fragrant piney hop bouquet with a bit of fruit to sweeten up the aroma - nice. Medium to full bodied, the taste is bitter pine, woodsy, a little herbal and finishing quite dry. Good but I prefer the slightly cheaper Captain Crow I think. It grew on me though as it warmed, becoming more balanced and flavorful.

Tap at Keyaki Spring 2017. PRetty, glowing gold with a low, thick head. Pissy Nelson nose, grapefruit, crackers. Grassy, fruity flavor, crackers, some cat piss, and a peppery, prickly finish. Crisp and grain with great hops. Nicely bitter. Classy stuff.
