Description
Italian local couple Massimiliano & Sonia, who initially aimed to produce beer only for the family, without the idea of obtaining revenue or even making it a real job, set up the Maiella brewery. Since our first beers in 2008, now several years have passed, the brewery has been forced to move to the home of 'Noonas' at a higher altitude due to the low fermentation.

Uklar gul i fargen med hvitt skum som legger seg fort. Fruktig, bær, pummelukt. Rund, ganske søt. Lite bitterhet, men smaken sitter igjen lenge.

750 ml bottle. Dark amber body with a big off-white head. Aroma has slightly roasted dark malt and some spices. Flavor is sweet malty, light roasted, caramel and dry fruit. Low bitterness. Actually quite nice if you don’t consider this to be a stout. It’s sweet with a fruity flavor, yeast and some kind of Belgium alcoholic style. Not bad.

750 ml bottle. Cloudy golden orange body with a white head. Aroma has grain, wheat and a hint of yeast. Flavor is sweet and style correct wheat, but quite weak and plain. Medium body, short aftertaste. Drinkable but rather uninspired.

Bottle at home. The colour is hazy, dark, matt straw with a whipped eggwhite-like, off-white and medium head. Sweet and fruity aroma with banana, citrus, hay and some spices. More citrus in the flavour along with wet hay, and is a little sour. Has a light and silky mouth feel, and a light bitterness. An easy-drinking, light and fresh weizen.

Appearance: Cloudy yellow color with a big white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Wheat, yeast, banana and light spicy.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Wheat, mild banana, a bit spicy and mild fruity.
Overall impression: Felt a little bit more acidic than a normal hefe weisse. A mix between hefe weisse and wit. Nice and refreshing.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway.

Bottle at home. The colour is slightly unclear with a brownish amber colour, and with a small off-white head. The aroma is very sweet with dried fruit, wort, cola, brown sugar and heather honey. Very sweet is also the flavour along with more sweet malt, dried fruit, caramel, chocolate, spices and alcohol. Has a slick and a bit watery mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A very sweet beer and nearly on the edge of being too sweet, but is flavourful and aromatic.

Medium offwhite head. Clear deep reddish brown body. Sugary fruity cedar wood aroma with spicy herbal lime notes. Dry-sweet fruity cedar wood taste with spicy lime notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish coriander, lime, and lavender aftertaste with cedar wood and cardamom notes. Wow. This is incredibly spicy, and it’s a miracle it works as well as it does. Nice and drinkable despite all the spice, though. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly, web order.)
