Tap at the 23rd Battersea Beer Festival - 06/02/13, thanks to JF for the pour. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin white head that clears to the edge. Nose carries pale malt, grain, grass, light spice. Taste comprises caramel, sugars, light fruit, grain. Medium bodied with bite, dry finish. Average.

Surprised at this being classified as a dunkel, it seems right on target for the style. The aorma and taste show off the roast grains and its has just the right amount of coffee bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly watery, and that seems to be the only downside.

Malzaromatischer Beginn mit Honignuancen. Röstaromen werden von süßlichen Noten überlagert, leicht hefig. Die Malzigkeit wird dann intensiver, sowohl der röstige als auch der süße Anteil. Aromatisch, steigende Hintergrundbitterkeit. Gelungener, vielleicht auf Dauer zu süßer Bock. 9/10/11/11/13/12

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, grass. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, sour grass - sugary, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120817]
