Description
Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.

4 oz pour on draft at B Side, served in a wine glass. Dark reddish brown with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, vinegar, light spice. Tastes of dark fruit, vinegar, berries, balanced tartness. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Very nice.

Bottle. It pours a salmon color with an off white head. The aroma is tart and funky with lots of grape and red wine tartness. Nice level of sour and funk. No acetic acid or solvents. Really pleasant on the palate yet intense fruit and sourness. Nice job.

Bottle courtesy of Hackobock. "Thank you". Pours hazy tiny burnt deep yellow with a very small frothy white head that doesn’t leave any trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is volatile with crackers, lemon juice, nail polish remover, dry soil and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, sour, tiny malty, tiny fruity and highly volatile. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny oily, mouth-puckering, throat burning acetic and medium bodied. Finish is heavy sour with lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and acetone. This is a mostly great brewery but releasing something like this really lovers my opinion of them. Poisonous...

On tap at the Backyard Alehouse in Scranton. It pours a clear golden color with a creamy off white head. The aroma is lightly floral with a little peach and grapefruit. The flavor is huge citrus and herbal bitterness. A little peach and grapefruit too. Medium bodied with a little caramel/honeyed malt. The strong herbal/piney bitterness isn’t really my favorite, but otherwise this was ok.

Sampled from 0.75 l bottle, shared by Maakun at Not THT, thanks! Hazy, dark brownish amber, no head. Sourish-fruity, slightly funky aroma of lemon, rhubarb, gooseberry, glue and some oak. Quite sour, moderately funky and a bit fruity taste of lemon, gooseberry, rhubarb, lots of glue and oak, followed by a medium long, rather tart, quite alcoholic and chemical finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent and very astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not good.

Bottle shared. Some wood glue on the nose. Lactic sourness, glue, some fruit which I guess are the kiwi berries, some caramel, red wine vinegar. Medium sour and sweet. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Loads of glue, and this is obviously not good, but it definately could be worse.
