Description
Bullfrog Brewery is a proudly independent and multiple award-winning craft microbrewery, brewpub, and eatery nestled comfortably in the vibrant heart of downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Born of fortuitous circumstance and ambitious aspiration, we opened in August of 1996 with a committed 'focal on local' philosophy and a simple yet lofty goal ... to be the place that people need to spend time, to brew beers that people need to have in their life, to offer food that people need to eat, to offer live music that people need to hear, and to be the place that our beloved staff need to work. Bullfrog beers are renowned far and wide, especially our artfully-crafted, barrel-aged wild ales such as Le Roar Grrrz and Rood Bruin. Here at "The Frog," we celebrate life by creating outstanding and memorable beers, food, friendships, and moments.

8/29/2009 Picked this up at the brewpub on a recent trip with the family. I was bummed I could not to try it on tap. Pours an almost clear orange amber with a good sized fluffy white head that sticks around for a while. Earthy citrus hops dominate the aroma while the caramel that is deep beneath tries to find a voice. Slight mineral almost phenolic aroma puts me off a little. Taste is a slightly astringent citrus grass and earth hoppy kinda thing with wisps of sweet malt buried beneath. Mouthfeel is sticky, body is medium, carbonation is ample. Not a bad ipa, the slight astringency turned this one for me.

Bottle. Pours reddish brown. Nose/taste of funky yeast, tart fruit, tangy citrus, dried dark fruit and caramel. Also, lots of vinous notes. There is a tiny bit of plastic in the nose and a little bit in the taste. Drinkable, but not the best beer from them by any stretch.

750ml Thanks to Douglas88 for sharing. Pours out a golden straw color topped with a white head. Aroma was of Brett, funk, green apple, light sweetness, and some floral notes. Taste is much as the aroma with a nice Brett, crisp fruit, some zest, and a little sweetness on the end.

Sample from a bottle from an unknown source at One Funky Afternoon at Jackie O’s on 04/02/2011: The beer pours a clear mahogany-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma with some sweet malty notes. Medium to full body with flavors of bready malt, caramel, fruit and hops. The finish is caramel malt up front and leaves a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
