Normalerweise hat Mais als Bierzutat eher einen schlechten Ruf. Ein eigenes Maisbier zu brauen, halte ich aber für konsequent. Geschmacklich merkt man den Mais aus deutlich. So läuft man geschmacklich hier nicht durch ein Gerstenfeld, sondern knabbert an einem gekochten Maiskolben. Dabei ist es leicht gehopft. Wer gerne Mais in solcher Form isst, wird an diesem Bier auch seine Freude haben.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Great and Powerful Pre-GBBF Tasting - Are You Scottish Edition (London, 2013). Pours perfectly clear yellow with a light, creamy white head. The aroma holds crisp, biscuity malts and straw. Light sweet flavor with dry dough, biscuits and hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Clean finish with further dry biscuits. Very tasty, nicely balanced.

ChrisO’s Pre GBBF ’Are You Scottish?’ tasting. Almost clear paleish gold beer. Residual white head. Light palate, dry and a little crisp. Dry papery malt - sweet too! Touch of floralness and a whisper of hop citrus. Dry finish. Too much paper.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’13, 10/08/13. Clear pale golden with a thin off white head. Nose is pale malts, grass, light vegetal notes, peas, cereal. Taste follows, fairly basic affair, grass, citrus, light caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish. So so.
