Description
Peddler Brewing Company is a microbrewery with a tasting room and large beer garden located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. At Peddler, we strive to be a gathering place for beer lovers and support bicycling as an awesome way to get around our beautiful city. Owners Haley and Dave Keller spend their time making and selling beer, advocating for cycling, and riding bikes, so in a word, they’re Peddlers.

Draft pour 12 oz at the brewery. Simply listed as Dark Saison oak aged with brett. Pours a cola like black with a tan fizz head and a ton of lacing. Very unique beer here. I don’t classify this as a saison, but I don’t have an idea to change it, so I don’t know. Has a sour apple, grape like aroma. Flavor has some sour dusty fruit with minimum spice. A little woody. A little bourbon in the finish as well, mostly because I know it’s there. It is. Slightly smokey, dry finish. Not as sour as they made it out to be, but there is no shortage on flavor. Overall I can say I enjoyed this. If I were to sum it up I’m one word though: Hmmm. Is that a word?

Dark brown, lots of roast and pine in the nose. Earthy, piney, lots of grapefruity bittermess, coffee roast. Good, full-bodied, complex example.

Draft at Ballard Beer Company. Ewwwwwwwww so sweet juice appley and some overripe fruit and oily Brett This may be the worst idea for a beer I have ever come across, bottom 10 for sure. The sweet apple completely makes the rest of the beer useless. Then the brett is so poorly used. Its sweet, flattish, oily, yucky.

Draft pour at the 192 lake trail taproom. I remember getting a pint of this a couple years ago at the brewery, and enjoyed it. So here I am seeing if time has changed anything. Pours an incredible, cloudy, dark copper with a fizzy fading head. Very faint malt aroma. This is just how I remember it. Nutty caramel flavor with a sweet finish. Smooth easy drinking beer.

Bottle from The Hop and Hound, Bothell, WA
Hazy golden color with medium sized head. I appreciate the mouthfeel, dry with a smack, it also has some toffee and cereals qualities, but it doesn’t deliver enough; the aroma is limited, the hops are very resiny, but just mildly fruity; very strong bitterness.
I’m thinking of a non fresh Pale Ale. Not totally bad, but it could aspire to higher levels.

Cloudy, thin head, aroma has wit spicing, esp. Coriander, and there’s maltiness in there too. Tastes a bit muddy, with slight orangey character. A little unclean.

Draught at Stateside Craft, Vancouver
Muddy blond color. It has a fresh aroma and a bready flavor, with delicate fruitiness. Pleasant.

On tap at Peddler, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Nose is pretty bland, with notes of oats and dull roast. Flavour is similar, with dry bready malt, roast and oats. Pretty boring stout, but nothing offensive at least. Meh.

On tap at Peddler, pours a clear orange amber with a medium beige head. Nose brings out resinous hops, caramel, and some woody piney quality. Flavour brings out resinous hops, balanced well by caramel notes. One of the better beers of this brewery. Solid stuff.

On tap at Peddler, pours a cloudy golden with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out stale coffee grounds, lots of earthiness, and very subtle Belgian yeast. Flavour brings out a mix of citrus notes and coffee grounds, finishing on tangy citrus notes. Nice incorporation of the coffee in this citrus saison. Decent.
