Description
Our mission has been to produce vibrant, quality and innovative beer with a truly authentic team of humans since 2015. Structures Brewing was founded by James Alexander after spending years working at breweries in Washington, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
In 2021, forces were joined when Bryan Cardwell partnered with James. Bryan comes from a background of world class brewing experience in Washington and Oregon. Together they have meshed their skills of brewing great hoppy beer and lager beer... while also loving to explore the realms of curiosity in Imperial Stouts, Barleywines and Smoothie Sours.

Pale malt, light herbaceous hop. Off-dry finish. Has that Bavarian pils sort of balance, and it’s executed well.

Cherry and plums for days, surprisingly fruity with hints of vanilla bourbon and brown sugar syrup.

Dark brown. No head. The aroma has a bit of coconut. This has a lot of coconut, light hazelnut. The body is fairly thick, though not complex. One-dimensional sugar, adjuncts okay but not profound. So whereas the Turtle one was thin and very un-Structureslike, this is a bit better. By no means in line with their A-list stouts, but noticeably richer than the Turtle and better able to carry the adjuncts as a result. Look, if any other brewery in El Jamón made this, I'd probably be throwing around praise instead of critique. But I know they left something on the table here, going for more of a gas station pastry series.

Taster. Appearance: murky golden with a white head. Aroma: veeeery creamy with some citrusy notes. Taste: along the same lines, somehow hops don't almost present here. Overall: very neutral, nothing is going here.

Dark brown, inky, no head. There's a lot of vanilla and bourbon on this, with some mellow chocolatey underpinning. A bit of alcohol fumes in there as well. A lot of vanilla, a lot of bourbon, this is very elegant. Great figgy, light chocolatey sort of refined fruity, sugar base. This is excellent.

750ml (thx, Joe S.!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: very nice American oak, vanilla, sweetness, chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, all the flavors are very nicely integrated, even the booze notes are just adding to the overall picture. Overall: very nice.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Very dark brown with no head. Lots of vanilla, honey, bourbon, light toffee, feint alcohol harshness, but very nice.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small beige head. Aroma is complex and elegant, with lots of bourbon barrels, some vanilla beans, brown sugar, and toffee. Flavour is extremely intense, with huge bourbon presence, extreme vanilla bean depth, molasses, and dark sugars. Very oily, intense, dominated by an absurd amount of vanilla, with the Blantons rounding things out beautifully. Only negative thing I could say is that it's a bit over the top and brutal, but in smaller quantities, this is a beauty.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear light gold with almost no head. Head is ivory as a small collar and slight dusting along portions of the top. Aroma is corn, with floral hops and earthy esters. Flavor shows the hops more than the aroma, bringing a brightness of earth floor, flowers and slight spicy esters. Finishes with sweetness for a short bit, and then a dryness on the palate. Refreshing and nice.
