Robey toned lol. Oh man so many sweet raisin figgy plum barrel notes. Fig newton notes all over. It's the ultimate maris otter expression of BiL.

On tap at RidgeWood, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is pretty muddled, bringing out some strange melange of adjuncts that just come across flat and muddled. Flavour is not much better -- clearly this is a sweet, decadent stout, but the mole ingredients don't really help -- I get some sesame seeds, cinnamon, roasted peppers, cocoa and chilis, but it doesn't work well together. Very viscous, spicy, sweet palate. Strange idea and not very satisfying execution.

On tap at The Beer Junction, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is bright, with a nice piney hop character, light citrus, a hint of tropical notes, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is moderately dank, with very bright piney hops, moderate dankness, a touch of citrus, and bright tropical notes from the Mosaic, with just enough crisp biscuity malt to back. Crisp, bright, and expertly brewed. Excellent.

Bright. With a big head. Aroma of berries and pine jumps out from the glass. Big. Pine and citrus, both vague, and more specific baked leeks. Big biscuity pale malt. It’s quite good.

Golden, light colour, bright, some floral hop and clean pale malt. Not sure what's Italian about it.

Sweetish, balanced, good toffee, medium body, just dry enough. Not as rich on the malts as I prefer, but solid.
