Description
The original Sea Dog Brewing Co. was founded by Pete Camplin, Sr. on May 17th, 1993 in the historic shipbuilding town of Camden, Maine, starting with a 240 seat brewpub and kegging brewery overlooking the dramatic waterfall of the old Knox Woolen Mill. On March 8th, 1995, Sea Dog opened a second facility, this time a 540 seat restaurant and brewery on the banks of the historic Penobscot River in downtown Bangor. In 2002, master brewer Alan Pugsley and entrepreneur Fred Forsley became the new owners of Sea Dog. Their crew continues the tradition of serving great food in a great atmosphere and brewing a full line of handcrafted ales that capture the spirit of Maine's sea-faring history. Today, Sea Dog Brewing Company operates brew pubs in three locations. The Sea Dog in Topsham occupies a scenic spot on the Androscoggin River. The Bangor location overlooks the historic Penobscot River. The South Portland location is near the Maine Mall. All three of these locations serve a full menu of handcrafted ales and creative pub fare with a flair. Being authentic is important to us. Our beers are brewed in a traditional style using only the highest quality ingredients like imported English two-row malted barley and British top-fermenting yeast. Our English brewing style results in brews with a distinctive, refreshing taste and crisp finish unique to top-fermented beers. Cheers!

Tastes like deliciousness! Very very very apricot, but if you buy this and not expect apricot, then you are an idiot.

16 oz draft. Flavor has lots of mild Orange and orange peel. White and body with a normal carbonation level. It’s a pretty decent summer brew that could be drank year-round.

Draft pour enjoyed at Sea Dog, Treasure Island. Light appearance, copper amber. Thin head. Pretty standard amber here, but does have a bit more than your usual hop bitter and balance to it. Slightly sweet bready malts, and a hint of classic grassy hop bitter. Lasting malty palate. Enjoyable amber here.

Draft pour at Sea Dog, Treasure Island. Dark cola brown pour with a soda fizz head. Brownie batter nose. Flavor is peanut butter cookie, chocolate fudge, a somewhat dry cocoa finish. Definitely a dessert stout. Nutty chocolate malt finish. It's sweet and bold at the same time. It's kinda good! I stay away from sweet stouts most of the time, but they sucked me in with the peanut butter here. Tasty!

Draft pour at Sea Dog, Treasure Island. Labeled at the brewery as a wheat with a hint of mango, but I can confirm this is a mango with a hint of wheat. Clear apple juice appearance. Almost no head. Aroma is a sweet mango pear like combination, barely a grain note. Pure mango and melon juice on taste, a touch of perfume, amd a slightly dry finish. True fruit flavors. I'm sure this hits the spot on the hottest Florida days. A bit off balanced for my taste. Somebody out there absolutely loves this product though, and for that, it belongs in the lineup.

Enjoyed on tap at Sea Dog, Treasure Island. Juicy hazy golden orange appearance with a patchy foam head. Bitter hop profile, which has been a bit unusual for my usual hazy, but I'm for it here. A gritty, earthy malt bill to balance. Azacca hop sticks out above the rest I'd say. A touch of a nutty side, amd has a slight citrus zest in the palate. Unique hazy, and pretty good overall.

Bottle from a Grocery Outlet. Pours clear copper amber with a transient white head. Aroma hints of peach cobbler. Med body. Flavor suggest peach cobber (tho without any sugar whatsoever), has some wheaty/crackery support for enough halt to make this bitter. It does have some citrus in the finish. It could be pool beer.
