(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 16 July 2026) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasty nose with chocolate, sweet black coffee and cacao. Malty, roasty taste with notes of chocolate truffles, sweet black coffee, cookies, caramel, spices (cinnamon, ginger) and a mild cacao bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Rich, smooth and well balanced. Very nice.

0,44 porsjon fra Statens ernæringsråd, hjemme: lett uklar gylden med ok skum. Ananas, lime og andre syrligheter. Hadde nok passet bedre på en varm sommerdag enn en regntung sommerkveld, men et nytt bryggeri på statistikken lyser jo alltid opp.

On tap at Bearwood Brewing Taproom in Wokingham, Berkshire (back in early May). An almost black coloured pour with virtually no head to speak of. Sweet, roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, dark fruit aroma and taste. Decent enough imperial stout but not overly complex for the strength.

New English brewery ✅ tropical and citrusy fruity aroma and taste, some notes of mango and lemon, some orange and melon, pale malts, light bitter hoppy finish. Easy going number.
