About
In 1887 the breweries of Karl Kürschner & Co. and the Gfirm of the Bohring Brothers were combined into the Vereinsbrauerei Apolda AG, and thereby the foundation for today's private brewery was laid. In 1952, during the GDR era, the brewery was renamed VEB Vereinsbrauerei Apolda and in 1969 incorporated into the VEB Getränkekombinat Erfurt. After the reunification, the brewery was privatized in 1991 and has been in private hands again since then.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass amber coloured, small head. Fine roasty-malty aroma. Starts mild, fine malty, roasty notes, not too sweet. Light woody hints, mild bitterness. Finish well balanced. Not bad.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Mild spicy aroma. Starts fine malty, shy roasty, some hints of cinnamon, some spices, light metallical touch. Finish well balanced, less spicy. Not bad.

Big thank you to kappldav123 for this 0,5 l bottle. BB 20.08.2025. A darkest brown with only reddish edges in the glass. More than one finger foamy beige head. Looks really good. Intensive smooth roasted malty aroma with a lot of choco. Taste has also roasted malt, coffee, darkfruity elements and choco in the background. Present bitterhop. Roasty aftertaste. Below average carbonated. Nice one.
