Bottle from Regionalladen Harz, Quedlinburg. Only called Bockbier, but given the colour I’m putting it here. Clear amber brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, light hay and light hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 150417

0.75l bottle courtesy of Benni. Nice hazy copper color with small tan head that goes down quickly to a thin layer. Aroma is sweet honey, nutty, toasted malts. Taste is rather delicate, grainy, bitter, a bit alcoholic. Feels quite light for this ABV. Could be deeper, but it’s definitely a non-standard Doppelbock. Doesn’t fit my palate perfectly though.

Bottle, 5.4%. Sweet grass aroma. Clear copper colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is quite caramelly with a medium bitterness. Quite good for the style.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear rich amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with fruity notes and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with bitter, hoppy and metallic notes and fruity touches. Estery aftertaste with malty and mildly acidic touches. Low carbonation. Not bad for the style.

Bottle, 5.0%. The aroma has a strange buttery vegetable note, perhaps cut grass but not recently cut. Must be from the hops. Cloudy grey amber colour. Small white head. The flavour has some butter and a little citrus. There is a nice enough aroma hop but that cannot make up for the fact that this beer is flawed.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with notes of fruit and touches of hops. Sour-sweetish flavour of grain, milk and yeast, with malty notes and estery touches. Acetic aftertaste. Might be past the BBD (the label hasn’t been tagged). Infected? Needs re-rating.
