Description
On the road towards Beg-Léguer, a sign indicates the Cidrerie du Léguer, the only cider house in Lannionnaise. Cédric Le Bloas, an agricultural engineer, moved there in May 2016. Since then, he has produced his organic cider using a traditional method. Cédric Le Bloas, owner of the Léguer cider house, is in charge of transforming apples from his two hectares of orchards, located in Perros-Guirec, into cider. He could not imagine his product other than organic and local.

Shared from bottle courtesy of Maakun. Unclear copper. There’s a bit of a hazy ghost in the bottle. Sulphury, phenolic, irony, rusty, flinty, juicy, old brown apple peels, some grapefruit, floral notes as well. Moderate sweet and quite rubbery dry bitterness. Medium body and soft carbonation. At first it feels a bit off but it opens up to an interesting cider to drink.

Bottle shared at and with Sjogro’s. Light hazy golden with just a few bubbles. Dry apple, apple peel, light earthy funk. It’s mostly dry apple peels with a bit of old wood, leather and crisp orchard funk. Almost medium sweet, light bitter and very light tart. Medium bodied with very low carbonation. Quite nice, but would benefit from more carbonation.

Bottle shared at the pre-Borefts 2019 tasting, Zaandam. Poured a clear light golden colour with a bubbly round white head. The aroma is light buttery malt, crushed apple. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet, with a crisp, light acidic apple palate. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation.

Bottle. Unclear deep golden color with white head. Aroma is nice apple skin, vanilla, leather. Taste is apple skin, tannins, leather, earthy, vanilla. Oily mouthfeel with quite some tannins, low carbonation, almost thin. Quite interesting - it's both sugary and dry at the same time. Dem tannins.

Shared from bottle at Maakun’s. Hazy golden with white head. Sour apples, lemon cake, soft peachy sweetness, some green grass, light herbal hops. Over medium sour, moderate bitter, mild sweet. Medium body and soft carbonation. Complexity is nice, crunchy sugar crystals in the sour base. It’s highly unusual for a French cider but quite nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hop on 25 Sep 2019 at 14:21 - Score:
