Description
Established in 1892 by one of the members of most famous and respectful brewery families of that period, Zenona Anstadta, from the beginning Brewery was valued by the deep taste of polish beer.
In Year 1916 property was acquired by family of Magierkiewicz and stayed under their management till breakout of World War II. Brewery was functioning in times of German occupation providing working space for the local population.
Next owner was family of Blusiewicz, which was running the brewery in years 1947-1951. In the end of 1951 Brewery was nationalized and incorporated into Brewery Department of Lodz. In the brake of 1996 and 1997 family of Blusiewicz reclaimed their rights to Brewery and begun beer production as a family company under the name of Browar Staropolski.Modernization of the Brewery allowed to increase the production power up to 100 thousands hectoliters of beer per year.
The end of XX century was a very successful year for the Brewery and management decided to export their products to USA and UK, where it become very popular among Britons and American Poles. Brewery was sold in 2007 due to the weak strategy in fighting for the consumer on the brewery market, at that time mainly dominated by large corporations. Following years were very difficult for Staropolski Brewery, which resulted in Brewery bankruptcy.
In 2014 Brewery was bought by Dystrybucja Pomorze, private limited company.

green plastic swing top bottle 500ml. -WTF???plastic bottle with swing top... you can probably find it only in Poland. Clear golden coloured, small white head, unpleasant dog food and honey in the nose. Sweet malty, light grainy and buttery with notes of plastic and caramel. Watery of course. Not good.

can. Clear golden colour, large white head. Full-bodied, malty, slightly sweet with a fruity touch. Quite grainy and robust, with some bitter hops and a herbal-resiny touch in the finish.

1.5 litre plastic bottle I didn’t expect much from this beer and wasn’t surprised. Not bad for a pilsner.

bottle, thank you Michau! Hazy deep golden colour, large and persistent white head. Malty aroma. Medium-boided, intensive malt flavours combined with aromatic and bitter hops. The hops taset slightly dusty, the malt is fabulous. The lovely malty flavours give the beer a touch of Bohemia. A very nice beer.

Can as Zagloba Mocne Malt Liquor (7%) From Staropolski. Can from Tops in Tempe. Golden color with very little white head. Aroma is sweet malt with a touch of caramel. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is decent slightly roasted caramel with some fruity aspects, but it is still sweet. Put this down for winter. When you really are desperate, and can tolerate a sweet malt beer. Hell, it’s probably ok for many people, just not me.

Can from Tops in Tempe as Zagloba Premium Beer. Brassy gold color with a large frothy white head. Grainy, spicy aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweetish caramel with very little hop to balance. Ok, but that’s it.
