Description
Since 1870 our family, the Meens family, has been brewing its Alfa beers in the traditional way. Alfa Bier's brewing process is still the traditional brewing process. The recipe, the method of brewing and the raw materials have consciously never changed, because we do not compromise on the quality of our beer. Alfa is the only brewery in the Netherlands to have 100% pure spring water from an officially recognized source. That water from our own source determines the special, pure and full taste of our Alfa Beers.

Malty grainy beginning. Not too deep surprisingly. Refreshing dry malty. Caramel, moderate to low bitterness, quite dry in body. Long intense malty roasted aftertaste with hints of burned caramel.

Voor een pils is dit één van de beteren. Goed schuim, gedronken uit fles. Lekkere bittere nasmaak.

Blik gekocht bij Jumbo en thuis gedronken. (ABV 8.5) Goudgeel helder bier met weinig schuim. Aroma van overrijpe pruimen. Smaak van banaan en grapefruit. De nasmaak is bitter en wrang. Drinkt weg als een pilsener.

Sampled from 0.3 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before December 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, grainy and slightly grassy aroma of grains, straw, metal and slight hints of citrus. Sweetish, slightly grassy, a bit grainy and minimally fruity taste of straw, grains and some citrus, followed by a short, slightly grassy-bitter, minimally metallic finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not bad actually!
