Description
It all began in an ice cream shop on Park Ave in Worcester.
Ben had a vision for a brick and mortar brewery in his hometown of Worcester, MA and Tom was trying to figure out what to do with the addition on his restaurant that was the former home to Peppercorn’s Ice Cream Factory. After a few beers one night on a bar stool, a plan was formed to start a brewery that would be committed to being local both in our branding and our ingredients.
The brewery officially opened on March 17, 2010 and we really weren’t sure what to expect… worst case we’d have a lot of beer to share with our friends. Luckily, we received incredible support from our local community that extended to the entire beer community, with medals at GABF, World Beer Cup and numerous awards around the globe since.
In January 2015, after 13 months of construction and almost 5 years crammed in an ice cream stand, we brewed our first beer on Shrewsbury St. located in the heart of Worcester. Fast forward to today, we are continuing to expand our capacity in Worcester and now have a beautiful second taproom with a 7bbl “test kitchen” at Patriot Place in Foxborough, MA.
More capacity means we can offer our beers in more places! Currently, we are available in all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Vermont with hopeful plans to one day fill out all of New England.
Wait, the name? Well, Wormtown was simply way cooler than Worcester Brewing Company. And it allows us to have that 3-decker attitude that we put into all of our beers!

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: bright yellow cloudiness with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: some pineapple and citrusy hop tones, light clean malts
Flavor: leads with the malts and the hops seem more faded and leaning more citrusy; finishes semi-citrusy and malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, very sessionable, fairly smooth along the tongue
Overall: not your standard blonde ale but to be honest I wish the pineapple-y aroma would have been in the flavor as well.

Can to mug.
Appearance: a ruddy amber to red color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off delicately to leave some messy lace
Aroma: strong notes of biscuity/bready malts, some caramel/toffee malts, light nuttiness, lager yeasty notes coming across somewhat fruity then some grassy to earthy hop character
Flavor: blends all the prior noted aromas together bittersweetly rolling into a light aftertaste of malts and grassy/earthiness
Texture: almost medium bodied but just a wee bit under, very sessionable, clean finish of nuttiness, dry breadiness, and lager yeasty fruitiness
Overall: yeah, I believe they got the Marzen style down pretty good besides spelling Oktoberfest wrong on their label (I can't insert the rolling eyes emoji here but you get it). I would have this again.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: a three finger white foamy head sits atop an amber to bronze colored body. Once the head slid off, some messy lace stuck to my glass.
Aroma: thick resinous hops coat extra piney hops and add a layer of floral bittersweet hops then caramel/toffee malts make a play to balance but falls just a wee bit short as the hops stay as the main feature here
Flavor: bittersweet blending the malts and all the different hops the brewer added; long bittersweet aftertaste of hops and malts
Texture: medium to full bodied, great sipper, semi-smooth but also some abrasive-ness to my tongue, a little chewy here, finishes with the resinous hops
Overall: it doesn't get more old school than this and I bet if I had another can to age it might turn into a barleywine. I'd have this again.

Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a three finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some stringy lace
Aroma: big milk chocolate sweetness, some light pie crust, sweet and toasted pecans, subtle vanilla
Flavor: meshes all the prior noted aromas together sweet, toasty and somewhat roasty, mild aftertaste of pie crust and chocolate
Texture: almost medium bodied, just a touch under, mild sessionability, finishes semi-dry with the pie crust and milk chocolate
Overall: very nice done pastry porter that would make a great evening Winter's dessert beer. Definitely would have again.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: somewhat a golden yellow color with some transparency. Two finger white foamy head which ends up sliding off to leave some messy lace
Aroma: citrusy and piney/resinous hops, clean biscuity malts
Flavor: great blend of the hops to the malts - a full on bittersweetness; clean aftertaste of resinous hops
Texture: between light and medium bodied, some sessionability, mild finish of resinous hops and clean malts
Overall: nicely done AIPA or possibly WC styled IPA depending how one looks at this beer. It's worthy of having again.
