Description
It all started in 1842 when Franz Schnaitl decided not only to rebuild the inn, which had been destroyed in a fire, but also to found a brewery. 175 years later Matthias Schnaitl IV is managing director and is aware of the living tradition of his family history: “We - our family and our brewery - are firmly rooted in our region.

Purely Austrian barley malt, Mühlviertel aroma hops and crystal-clear water from our own deep well are brewed to the beers Original, Pils de luxe, Florian - Spezial, Festbock and the dark. Since beer needs enough time, it is given to him in the Schnaitl brewery: one week of main fermentation in the fermentation cellar and another five weeks in the storage cellar before it is gently filtered and bottled or vatted. The carefully selected ingredients from the region, tried-and-tested recipes and decades of experience in processing ensure that the beers have a fine, unobtrusive mildness. The motto here is "Quality instead of quantity".

500 ml bottle got at Austrian Beer Challenge.
Golden-orange, cloudy body, with a big, creamy, moderately lacing, white head.
Aroma of spices, ripe fruits, banana, sweet bread, some vanilla, slight bubblegum.
Tastes of ripe and some dried fruits, banana, bread, spices, vanilla.
Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes quite soft, spicy, yeasty, bready, sweet.

Good, but average Weizen. Too less aromatic for my liking, with all typical aromas, but all a bit flat. Drinks easy though.

Bottle. Clear dark colour. Stable head. Promising caramelly aroma, but dull and thin taste with a disappointing grassy and metallic finish.

500 ml bottle from Beer Store Vienna.
Golden, crystal-clear body, with a big, fluffy, rocky, lacing, white head.
Aroma of flowers, bread, grains, grass, some citrus, some honey.
Tastes of grass, grains, flowers, herbs, citrus, some bread, honey.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, quite dry, herbal, grassy, floral, a bit malty.

Good. Nothing special, typical grainy and floral notes, but surprisingly aromatic for the ABV, a bit like a Pils. Clean and very easy, nice summer beer.
