Description
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

75cl Bottle, shared with my father-in-law in Eecke. Pours a deep misty gold, medium white head. Aroma presents gentle sweet yeast, grainy malt. Continues to taste with soft yeast, light floral notes, dough. Fairly basic tripel.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk on a picnic blanket. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Some Belgian ester but mostly crisp sherbet hop lemon and orange. Very drinkable and likeable orange and tangerine mix with subtle Flemish yeast. Good.
Earlier Rating: 7/1/2008 Total Score: 2.7
Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Hazy gold, off white head. Some fruit on aroma. Tastes like a Belgian blond, bit sickly on the malt, some rose petal. Drinkable enough. But malt lets it down.

29th Jan 2026: Draught @ Brasserie du Pays Flamand. Marvellous.. nicely light and smooth, excellent balance, wonderful harmony. Very enjoyable, pintworthy in fact. Up-rate from 8 years ago.
25th May 2018: 330ml bottle from Auchan Grande-Synthe. Pours misty deep gold, small white head. Aroma veers towards lightly spiced blonde. Taste presents a moderate sweetness, low spice, a touch drying with a modest carbonation. Needs a little more life to lift this above anotherwise standard, uninteresting Belgian blonde
