Description
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016. Brown color, small to average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, dark candy sugar, slight wood tart, a bit dry and lightly dark malt. Don’t get a very nice bourbon influence in this one, or perhaps it just doesnt’t blend that well with this beer. Average body, firm carbonation. Meh.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016. Murky brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, candy sugar, light alcohol, cognac quite sharply. Bit too much really.

The great ChrisO pre GBBF gathering. Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Light malts, caramel and cream sweetness. Floral mid. Ripe citric hop and a little hop spice. Some alcohol tingle. Ripe fruity finish. A bit of a stewy DIPA but okay.

3/IX/16 - 75cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ RBBSG V (Klaas' place) - BB: n/a (2016-964) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, small aery irregular beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit metallic, caramel, sweet nose. MF: very lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, lemony touch, some earthy spiciness, lactobacillus, alcohol. Aftertaste: quite some vanilla, still very sourish, lemon juice. A bit too acidic to my liking.

Clear purple brown beer, small creamy irregular head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of ripe banana, sweet, dried fruits, yeast, caramel, cognac maybe? MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very very yeasty, caramel, some banana, alcohol. Aftertaste: sweet, dried fruits, pretty sugary, soft bitterness, alcohol, cognac notes?

At rbbsg16. Thnx for sharing People ! Pours dark brown, not much head. smell is full, creamy , cocoa , dark malts . Taste is Sharp, very intense, bit bitter , plastic. Som grains , some cocoa.

The great ChrisO pre GBBF gathering. Hazy gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light sourness. Rich malts. Kind of a tripel spice vibe. Tangy fruits, dried fruits. Light citrus and funk on the finish. Tasty beer, stoopid long name.

[backlog] 06-05-16 / at Delirium Hoppy Loft Brussels, Belgium. Nice balanced sour. Wood, dry wine aroma. Nice brett aroma. Can hide the ABV pretty good. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 4/5

Bottle @ Chriso pre-GBBF Shindig 2016. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy woody bretty sour wine aroma. Fruity malty spicy woody sour bretty flavor. Has a fruity malty woody bretty wine finish.
