Description
The Brasserie du Pays Flamand was founded in November 2006. At the start, a common passion of 2 childhood friends: Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne, turned into a real large-scale project. The brewery first settled in Blaringhem, on the border of French Flanders and Artois. This is where Bracine, Anosteké and Wilde Leeuw were born. Today, a second, much larger production site has been set up in Merville, in order to meet growing demand. Each brew is a claim to their origins, to the northern terroir, and each beer, an invitation to conviviality. The different ranges offered testify to respected traditional know-how, a search for original taste, and a desire to discover new flavors. The Brasserie du Pays Flamand regularly collaborates with brewers from all over the world, bringing together cultures and ideas to offer you exceptional beers.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Hazy golden with no head. Nose carries quite a bit of brett unless if I am mistaken, is that intentional?, am I wrong? Otherwise lots of basic wine, strongly vinous with some lemon. Taste is basic lemon, orange peel, sour wine, low carbonation, sourness is low, quite a bit of grapefruit, thinned out, doesn’t feel 12 % ABV, very & very wine-forward, mildly meh. Okay-ish overall.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark brown, little tanned. Nose is massive cough syrup & huge Islay peat, sweet. Taste is basically peated cough syrup, herbal, metallic, peated plastic, sweet, finish is medicinal,… Thick cough syrup body. Basically strongly peated alcoholic cough syrup, not my thing.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Clear golden, light citrus, small white head. Very oily citrus nose, saldy also vegetable, strongly oily. Taste is dull oily hops, herbal, oily & vegetable notes, sweet lemon oddly, very vegetable. Oily & vegetable body. Maybe a bad keg? No idea but the heavy vegetable notes obviously ruin this otherwise at best dull beer.

Thx! Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. They got a keg of this one but no real info unlike the other beers, possibly an experimental one-off or a test batch, I have no idea, this is pure speculation. They told me that this one has salt in it & they were selling it. Hazy golden, creamy white. Boring mineral notes, low malt, white sugar, quite salty actually. Taste is salt – too much duh if you can taste is combined with strong mineral qualities, malt, white sugar, boring, stale,… Medium salty body. Not much to say here, bland, uninteresting not too good beer base at best with too much salt, yup you can surely taste it.

Sampled from bottle at Borresteijn’s place. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey and mango. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, honey and mango, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!
