Samples at the brewer: Pours a light muddy brownish gold with a small head (but then again, the bottle was open). Aroma has hints of smoke, some sour ale smells in there, but these are somewhat faint, loads of malts, and, of course, there is a hint of the booze. Taste is smoky at the front with light sour notes. On the right sip, you get a really boozy bite in there. It was good, but neither the smoke nor sour aspects really wowed me.

At a bottle share: Pours murky brown with an off-white head. Aroma is hot peppers and a huge helping of hops. Taste is very bitter and very spicy. The hot pepper lingers quite a while after as well. Unlike Ghost Face Killa, this is drinkable, but this is way more substantially peppered up than Sculpin Habanero or other pepper IPAs I’ve had to date. This is drinkable, but I couldn’t imagine wanting to drink a whole bottle or even a whole glass. For the concept, this is good, but as a beer... well... not so much.
