Description
Blue Lobster Brewing Company will be coming to Hampton, New Hampshire in 2012! Featuring fine craft beers from Michael and Roberta Benoit, Blue Lobster will become a common sight in your favorite local restaurants and bars.

Michael and Roberta have been crafting beer for 30 years (okay, so Michael crafts it, but Roberta helps design and drink it). After many years of wandering the country in exotic places like Texas, California, and for the last 12 years Oregon, they are looking forward to bringing their unique, locally-inspired brews to New Hampshire. Blue Lobster will feature small batch specialty brews, as well as more traditional beers - all served in our own tasting room AT the brewery.

2014 750mL bottle drunk 3/18/23, thanks to Willeunforbeer! Clear ruby port with lighter amber. Off-white head to ring quickly. Light grape, mild acidity, raisin, plum and light to moderate oxidation. Cocoa, dark chocolate. Fully attenuated, maybe over. No booze, very clean. Wow very malty still, pepper, raisin, dates and excellent caramel and toffee but well-aged and attenuated. Lightly sticky, candi sugar, vanilla and heavy pepper. Lightly sweet port. No booze, no oxidation in flavor. Wow this has held up remarkably well.

Bottle shared by Chris on 7/23/16.
Clear, honey-apricot golden body is topped by an immediately-receding, white head.
There is some deep brett goodness here; lime and very light band-aid but it’s muted and lies beneath cereal grain and light cider notes. Warming shows more sweet grains and lots of cider.
Cidery, with tartness and light bacterial influences. Lots of brett tartness, green apple, lime and such. Very, very dry. The brett has completely eaten through the beer leaving an extremely attenuated, overly dry, lightly cidery beverage in its place. Still, it’s clean and with no alcohol and the malt flavors are enjoyable, though it’s a bit hard to see through the cidery character.
Was hoping this would have held up better as I so wanted to try it, but that certainly can happen with brett. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s too bad it wasn’t mashed a little warmer to create some more body and harder to ferment sugars. A less than 3 year-old saison isn’t exactly old, relative to the style. Anyways, will concede some points to what it must have been before the brett really went crazy.

New school inoculated dry aspirin aroma. Lemony biting saison notes. Really intense flavors. Funky barnyard notes. The dry test tube tones detract from an otherwise unique and enjoyable beer.

On clearance at Bert’s Hazy dark yellow color with a huge bubbly frothy white head that persists forever. Light fruity earthy spicy nose. The flavor is somewhat bland but thirst quenching. Light sweet bread with bits of fruit and light spice. Medium to thin body with a moderate to high level of carbonation. Nice warm weather beer.
