Whoa. I’m review #2 for this beer? This is a single port barrel of a wee heavy brewed by Dave and I think Paul Vaughn? Anyway, enjoyed at fridge temp and allowed to warm up. Full pour into the Hill Farmstead stemware.
A - Black with light red in the glass. Pours like a barley wine. Sort of a champagne like soda-pop carbonation. Fades fast and has a thin nice head left over.
S - Nose has a hint of esters and blackberries with a candy-like dark fruit smell as well. Certainly dark fruits like prunes and figs.
T - This is only 10%? Quite a big taste for that. Big faded hop profile with pronounced bitterness and sweet vanilla. More of those freaking dark fruits this time, the blackberries are hugely overwhelming almost like fresh picked with a hint of muddy / leafiness.
M - Sticky mouthfeel, reminds me much of most dessert wines with the carbonation of a belgian pale ale.
O - I enjoyed this. I think a 750ML by myself was a mistake but I pushed through and finished it. This is a nice beer and the port + scotch do pair well. I couldn’t think of a more appropriate vessel for this beer.

Draft @ BL. Dark brown color, thin, white, creamy head. Nuttiness with roasted grain and light hop aroma. A nice light, malt flavor up front that transitions into an earthy hop flavor in the finish. Secondary flavors of toffee and hints off coffee. Moderate body and finish has a herbal, Earthiness I enjoy.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of Lukaduke. First bottle was a touch off, but Dave and Luke provided us with a second bottle to give it another try. Really fucking nice guys. Cheers guys! Pours a dark pink appearance with a white head. Pungent, sour berry aroma with some yogurt, lactic lemon, and dark fruit. Tart, bright blueberry flavor. Finishes quite tart and dry. Juicy and fun to drink. Thanks again my good folks.

Bottle shared by Felipe - thanks! Pours clear neon pink with a small pink head and some lacing. Aroma is WTF! Sulphuric, farty, rotten lettuce. Holy awful, batman. Flavor is bizarrely decent if you avoid breathing when you drink. Fruity and lightly tart, lemon. A bit of initial sweetness but dries out fast. Light body, effervescent. I will say that the sulphur fades as the beer breathes, but what the hell!?!?! Probably the worst smelling beer I have yet experienced.

750ML bottle. Bright gold with 1 finger white head. Sticks around. Nose is orange peels and a touch of sulfur. It has an up front rotten egg taste. Sorry Dave. Lots of melons and oranges. Brett is there in a leathery way. Very dry. Lemon zest finish and also grassy. The sulfur nose and taste is a turn off. Everything else is great.
Update: I opened a second bottle and the sulphur and eggs are totally gone. Much more fruity and juicy on the nose and palate. Mouthfeel and appearance are obviously unchanged. Bumped the review up.

375ML Bottle. AirForceHops picked this up for me. Thanks dude. Enjoyed at 45F in stemmed bulb glass.
A - Deep ruby red / purple appearance with some yeast floaters. Pink bright head that fades slowly.
S - Nose is great. Plums and Blueberries have a nice color but aren’t known for their nose. I’d say its reminiscent of very weak and less tart raspberries.
T - Wow. Impressive taste. The plums are more apparent than blueberries. Sharp acidity in the middle with a bursting tartness. Fades pretty fast and doesn’t linger. The wheat is not huge and there’s very little acidity.
M - Jammy, sweet, nice wheat backbone and sweetness. Balanced bottle conditioning and a bit effervescent.
O - There’s a lot of flavor here considering it’s a 2.9% beer. that’s what’s most amazing about this beer. How much Dave was able to cram into such a low alcohol beer.

On tap at Cask and Vine. Solid opaque with a huge tan head that persists forever. Aromas of roast, coffee, caramel, dark fruit, light chocolate. Is this a porter or a stout? The flavor is heavy on the roasted grains, big caramel and light chocolate with a hint of smoke. Light earthy hop flavor and a spice from the rye add a bit of complexity. Medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and sweet creamy ashy mouthfeel. This is a big porter that feels like a stout at times, but its so damn good who cares about labels? Beautiful beer, I wish I could have had another.

Burnt red. Smells of simcoe and juicy tangerines. Very good. Sweet throughout. Lots of fruit juice and a touch of pine. Little bit of peach. Huge taste for a low abv beer. That in itself is very impressive.

750 ml growler from the brewery. Color is indeed amber with plenty of head retention, coats the glass until conclusion. Nose is lots of pine influence with toasted grain. Citrus upfront in the taste with caramel malts, grain and again another dose of pine. Ton of flavor with nice lingering resin in the finish. Pretty impressive for such a low ABV.

Bottle purchased @ BL. Awesome pink color with a purple tint. Nose is tart berries and plum juice. Nice balance of tart berry and sweet plums. Light lactic notes with a mild puckering after the sip. The fruit, sour and tartness is in real nice harmony in this brew. Carbonation gives me a soda pop liveliness with a dry texture. Overall another nice Berliner Weisse, yet I prefer the Hamptonweisse from this past summer. Just my personal taste. Still David did a nice job with this brew!
