Bottle purchased @ BL. Awesome pink color with a purple tint. Nose is tart berries and plum juice. Nice balance of tart berry and sweet plums. Light lactic notes with a mild puckering after the sip. The fruit, sour and tartness is in real nice harmony in this brew. Carbonation gives me a soda pop liveliness with a dry texture. Overall another nice Berliner Weisse, yet I prefer the Hamptonweisse from this past summer. Just my personal taste. Still David did a nice job with this brew!

Draft @ Blue Lobster. Thin tan head over black liquid in the sample glass. Nice aroma of pine hops and chocolate malt. Flavor is mostly the same, light lingering pine bitterness. Hints of coffee and ash. Texture is smooth with correct level of carbonation. Could be real easy to drink large amounts of this.

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a lightly hazy medium straw color with a decent sized bone white head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Aromas of bready wheaty malt with hints of pear and grass with a light bretty funk. Flavor is sweet and fruity tart with bits of lemon and pomme fruits. Light earthy hop slides in as well as a touch of ethanol. Light bretty funk just adds a nice layer of rustic complexity. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet slight funky carbonic acid twinged mouthfeel. Very nice beer right here! Lots of layers a bit rustic very nicely done!

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a cloudy dark pink color with decent sized beige head that quickly dissipates to a cap on top. Small amount of floaties rustling about. Smells of grapefruit juice, spicy bready wheat malt with hints of berry. The flavor is tart with lemons against a mild wheat backdrop. Lingering lactic tartness mixed with non descript fruit and a hint of wet cardboard. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a tart puckering mouthfeel. Wow that is a damn fine Berliner!

750 ml growler from the Brewery. Color is hazy gold that is clear around the edges. The nose has a beautiful bouquet of grapefruit, grassy hops, hints of pine and citrus hops. The taste is just as nice and follows the nose almost exactly. Exceedingly well-balanced and still very hoppy. Bitterness lingers without any harshness. Nice citrus and pine balance. Not tasting any alcohol anywhere which make this dangerously easy to drink. Have to remind myself not to chug it. Real nice job!

Hay yellow. Smells like straw hay and lemons. Taste is very clean. Light body. Very smooth finish. Great wheat backbone. on a hot day, this is a winner.

Hazy Gold. Nose is orange peels and mulch. Taste is waves of hops that just don’t quit. Persistently bitter and nice balance of malts. Of the Excess serious, this is the clear winner so far. Love how this tastes and want more!

Draft at BL. Pale, hazy gold in color, very thin head in the 4 oz. sample glass. Aroma is quite sweet with malts and some mild herbal notes. Flavor is quite earthy, herbal and mild grassy notes. Really pleasant and certainly easy to drink. Simple and straight forward; different take on the style.

Draft @ WHYM Craft Beer Cafe. The aroma is musty and dank with earthy and spicy hops with a hint citrus in the background. The taste is similar with plenty of earthy hops with bitterness that doesn’t over whelm your palate. There’s pine tang on the finish but it’s not over resinous. Citrus notes in the flavor just like the nose. Dry zesty, Earthy bitterness that lingers for a good duration. Solid brew.

Draft @ WHYM Craft Beer Cafe. I got this right before the keg kicked on 30 July 2013. The owner of WHYM poured this beauty into a snifter. Slightly hazy yellow color with thin soapy head. Nose is edible flowers and honey. The flavor started with an orange and lemon citrus followed by a nice malt backbone. The finish had a large amount of honey and light hints of yeast. Texture is dry with the body being medium. I never would have guess that this was over 8% ABV. Drinks like a 5 % brew. It really did the job on a warm summer evening. David makes another great brew.
